Hello!

I'm Kaja [Kai-ah] Kurobasa

I’m a graphic designer with a versatile skillset and an analytical attitude rooted in my passion for the power design has to shape people’s emotions and actions. I’ve developed a range of competencies centred around storytelling and engaging audiences, with effective communication at the core of my creative decisions.

Through my studies at Fanshawe College, I’ve refined my technical skills and problem-solving strategies. I currently work for the Public Health Agency of Canada, in a graphic design role with a broad range of responsibilities that have sharpened my professionalism and fostered my curiosity. I’ve become well acquainted with the Adobe Creative Suite and Figma through projects spanning branding, packaging, advertising, illustration, e-learning, UI/UX, photography, and video editing. My eclectic experience and drive for excellence have led me to adopt the mantra, Jack of all trades, master to come. Although I’m uncertain of exactly which direction I wish to go in this industry, I’m eager to continue growing and using my toolkit to develop smart solutions and creative communications.

It All started aS a hands-on hobby

I've always been drawn towards art and technology, approaching new mediums and modes of design with enthusiasm and an open mind. Participating in various art classes and clubs as I grew up gave me a strong foundation of art and design principles, and fostered a wildly creative imagination that inspires the work I do now.
