Objective
Scientist, Scientist, What Do You Do? is a book that was created to introduce elementary school students to various fields of science in a friendly and simple way that encourages curiosity. It will be published by the Public Health Agency of Canada as a free E-book resource for parents and teachers, along with an accompanying student workbook and printable posters.

Process
I used bright colours and dynamic poses to make the book feel lively, ensuring kids’ early exposure to science is enjoyable rather than intimidating. To reinforce the themes of exploration and discovery, the illustration style is loose, textured, and organic.

I researched and collaborated with colleagues to ensure uniforms and environments were accurate to each occupation, and to optimize the language and design of the workbook for the targeted age group. Isolated line work was used for the workbook and posters, for optimal clarity when printed in black-and-white in typical school labs by teachers, and for students to be able to colour in.
